Day 1: Bellport to Baltimore

Wake up in Bellport, go to bed in Baltimore. The morning is spent picking up the car from the shop, packing it up and waving goodbye to this place for a while.

We are setting off to Oregon, and have decided to take a northern route across the U.S., a decision made by the calling of Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone National Park, a tour stop of a favorite band, the great state of Washington, and of course, Wisconsin cheddar... maybe not in that order... If one day we decide to reverse the trip, we'll take the southern route home.

Here we go...

Day 1: Baltimore, Maryland

With my sister Liz as our tour guide, we had about an hour to walk around the inner harbor area of Baltimore... rows of restaurants and shops along the water... ship in the harbor...

We hung out with this guy for a minute. He's standing outside of his restaurant "Dick's Last Resort" where apparently the waiters treat you like crap... on purpose... and you take it like a man or get the hell out. We stayed outside.

This crab was outside the Baltimore Aquarium... it was too late in the day for us to visit, but you could see into the aquarium through a glass wall on one side of the building... looked like an indoor jungle...

At the Ripley's Believe it or Not museum. This car was covered in Swarovski crystals... Statue of Liberty on the hood.

 Transformers!

There was a great big candy store and we just had to stop. They also had a large supply of bacon and mustache products. The bacon air fresheners smelled like dog treats. Gross.

And to top off the Baltimore experience, we ate a bucket of crabs...

Got back to Liz's house and had the adorable Sadie to keep us company.

It was the perfect day for walking. Just beautiful outside. We are on to Detroit in the morning...
